Abstract:
During the last decade remote sensing techniques have developed rapidly in both numbers of sensors and the accuracy of the sensors. In this presentation some of the recent result within geodetic mapping of the sea level from satellite altimetry as well as its interaction with melting of glaciers from measurement of weight changes of the ice by the twin GRACE satellites, will be addressed and some of the obstacles and currently outstanding problems outlined.
